What level of socio-community development is MARA expected to have?

In addition to the global environmental experience of the partner companies, and the incorporation of industry best practices, the MARA Integrated Project is born with a double distinctive element: as we mentioned before, on the one hand, it reuses Alumbrera’s infrastructure, which is in itself a unique aspect of the project that significantly reduces the environmental footprint and, on the other hand, it incorporates community concerns and demands collected in several cases, and implements a community monitoring system we believe unprecedented in the country. The joint effort of the project members, the community and the authorities ensures a truly sustainable, innovative and responsible mining.

It should be worth pointing out that dialogue sessions have been held in recent times with the community and local and provincial authorities to gain a thorough understanding of the needs and concerns of different groups in society in relation to the economic, social and environmental impact of mining. It is on this basis that the community participation model of the MARA Integrated Project is being developed.
